How to go from half-marathon to full-marathon in 3 months? Make it story.

It was early spring of 2020 and I was feeling particularly motivated to take on a physical challenge. So I decided to try and go from running a half-marathon to a full marathon within three months.

At first, I was a bit intimidated. After all, running a full marathon is no small feat. I had to make sure I built up my strength and endurance over the course of the three months.

The first thing I did was to set up a running schedule. I made sure to plan out my runs for the week, paying attention to how many miles I was running and at what pace. I also made sure to include rest days in my schedule. This was important for allowing my body to recover and for preventing injuries.

To increase my distance, I focused on adding a mile or two to my runs each week. This allowed me to gradually increase my mileage and build up my endurance. I also made sure to mix up my runs, alternating between long runs, interval running, and tempo runs.

I also made sure to fuel my body properly before and after my runs. I made sure to eat a balanced diet with plenty of protein, carbohydrates, and healthy fats, as well as plenty of water.

I was also sure to cross-train on my rest days. I did strength training exercises and core work, as well as foam rolling and stretching. This helped me to stay injury-free while also increasing my strength and endurance.

After three months of dedication and hard work, I was able to successfully run my first full marathon. It was an incredible feeling of accomplishment.

I learned a lot through this experience and I’m so thankful for the lessons it taught me. I now know that if you set your mind to something and put in the work, anything is possible.
